Hand crafted olive wood table wear is strikingly beautiful. The naked wood itself is truly unique in its contrasting tones and grains and thus produces some of the most exquisite pieces which are hardwearing and practical, yet elegant, beautiful and timeless.

The region of Andalucia is responsible for 80% of Spain's olive and olive oil production. In true traditional style nothing is wasted, least of all the olive tree itself. With such a high turnover of sustainable olive trees an artisan trade has been long established. Andalucia boasts some of the finest olive groves in Europe and as such, the finished olive wood pieces are of the highest quality. Particular attention to detail is paid throughout the process from the selection of whole pieces, to the carving and finishing which result in some of the finest carved olive wood products available.

Olive Wood

Olive Wood Pestle & Mortar Hand carved from a single piece of specially selected aged olive wood, this exquisite large rustic pestle and mortar set will make a stunning feature on any kitchen work surface. The inside of the mortar is perfectly smooth and pristine as is the hand crafted pestle making the pair suitable for grinding all manner of herbs and spices with ease of cleaning afterwards. The outside of the mortar is finished with the bark intact for an amazingly unique rustic piece and even the age rings can be seen on the bottom inside and out. A true piece of artisan craftsmanship which is sturdy, durable and beautiful. Looking after your olive wood purchase Keep away from direct sunlight and extremes of temperature. After use always "season" the wood by rubbing a light covering of olive oil over the item, this will ensure longevity and keep your olive wood in prime condition. This is due to the essential oiling and drying process.
