The
wine producing region of Rioja is situated along
the Ebro Valley in northern Spain and is home to
some of the best known Spanish wines in the world.
Wines produced in this region are protected by the
recognised Denominacion de Origen stamp
which regulates the whole process from growth to
bottling and guarantees quality. Although the area
is quite small, the land is extremely diverse and
is split into three areas - Rioja Alta, Rioja
Baja and Rioja Alavesa. Different climate
influences and soil types within the regions influence
