Spanish seafood recipesSpanish seafood recipes are both popular and versatile, most fish mongers or “pescaderia’s” are open every Tuesday and Friday showing off a comprehensive display of fish. The Spanish seafood paella is one of the more famous dishes using fresh fish but there are many more to experiment with . . . try Spanish sardine recipes for a light lunch or for something more substantial a mackerel “asado”.

Spanish salt cod or “bacalao” is still used today, a popular tapas dish being “Bacalao al Pil Pil”. Hake is also favoured in Spain as are the humble mussel, dogfish and gilthead bream all with an array of recipes involving marinades, barbequing, poaching, frying and grilling.

Many of the Spanish recipes in the list below have been given to us by our local fish monger in Orce village and also several eating establishments where the Spanish chefs are always happy to offer ideas.
