Mackerel
Fillets in Lemon
Spanish
seafood tapas recipe using fillets of fresh mackerel marinated
in lemon juice, garlic, and chilli. These seafood tapas
are easy to make and involve no cooking as the lemon juice
"cooks" the mackerel whilst marinating. Great
tapas for the summer!
You
will need:
4
mackerel fillets
1 Small chilli
1 Small onion
2 Garlic cloves
2 Large lemons (juiced)
Salt
Pepper
Method
- Cut
up the mackerel fillets into thin strips (half inch wide)
- Dice
the chilli and garlic and slice the onion wafer thin.
- Squeeze
the lemon juice into a large cazuela and add the rest
of the ingredients except the fish and mix well.
- Add
the mackerel pieces and turn the mixture so the fish gets
fully coated.
- Cover
the cazuela and marinade in the fridge for at least 2
hours.
- When
ready serve on bread or with cocktail sticks.
